Community News #1

At HIX, YOU are the content, and we’d be nothing without our community of leading exhibitors. Representing the best in hospitality FF&E – from bathrooms and lighting to soft furnishings, fabrics and more – the HIX Expo is a showcase of the most dynamic, curated and creative collections at the forefront of European interior design.

Each month in the run up to HIX 2022 (17th & 18th November) we’ll be sharing an edit of new lines and products, some of which you’ll be able to find on the exhibition floor come November.

Laufen

Lua

Designed by Toan Nguyen, the Lua system features carefully researched geometric shapes that combine smart linearity alongside curving radii that spotlight the ceramic’s natural grace. Featuring washstands, sanitary fixtures, bathtubs, cabinets and taps as well as storage elements, Lua’s minimalist exterior contains significant comfort and sensory appeal. ‘We really paid close attention to the details like the radius that the specific ceramic could allow in order to achieve the optimal water flow,” says Nguyen.

Sunbury Design

Recycled Ranges

Contract fabric specialist Sunbury Design is pushing for positive change in the textile industry with its new Sorsdal Velvets, Cascade Digital Prints and Zonda Weaves. Crafted from halogen-free, easy-clean recycled polyester yarns with biodegradable composites, these fire retardant materials do their bit by incorporating elements that would otherwise be sent to landfills and oceans.

Sekers

Toledo

Toledo is a new polyester velvet available in 20 colours, from striking bold saturations to gentle neutrals. Free from harmful finishes and chemicals, toledo is equally suited for leisure and marine settings as it is hospitality, and has recently been joined by the similarly versatile Soho  – a velvet with decorative cut piles – and Varna – a tie-dye and cotton-look duo available in 30 colours.

Villeroy & Boch

Architectura

The new washbasins in Villeroy & Boch’s Architectura bathroom collection carry lighter profiles, closer edges and clearer lines than previous additions, but also feature expanded construction solutions with surface mounted and built in models. Likewise, the rounded versions have also had their volumes increased, and the built-in basins have been fitted with a tap hole bench which doubles as a ceramic shelf.

Available in a White Alpine colourway, Architectura has been designed in-line with shifting interior trends that sees the bathroom repositioned as a sanctuary of wellness and lifestyle-focused space. Stay tuned for an in-depth look on this trend as part of our HIX/THINX series.
