Elisa Rodriguez Checa
Elisa received her Master in Architecture from the ETSAM in Madrid in 1998. Her architectural background and experience spans multiple sectors and roles, from Studio Leader at Rockwell Group, leading the design of international Hospitality and Residential projects, to Design Coordinator at the international retail developer the Mills Corporation to Freelance architect for small sustainable boutique projects. Her role as professor of office design at Madrid Polytechnic University and her LEED AP Certificate showcases her commitment with sharing knowledge and sustainability.
Elisa's extensive technical know-how is based on over 20 years of experience in the world of international hospitality interior design. Studied and worked in Germany, Spain and the UAE, she has dedicated her professional career to the design of upper upscale and luxury hospitality projects throughout the EMEA. As Head of interior design of Marriott International / Global Design Europe she built and led a team of interior designers, looking after the operator’s hotel portfolio throughout Europe. With an extensive network and expertise in the international hotel industry, her work has been characterised by the interface function between owners, specialist planners and various operational entities, always seeking for the sweet spot of functional perfection, memorable design language and brand vision. During her career she has been supporting both as Interior Design Consultant as well as on operator’s side a large number of hotels in over 25 countries and worked on over 20 brands.
