Why HIX?

As free registration opens for Europe’s only hotel design event, here’s four reasons to attend HIX 2023.

COMMUNITY

Let’s face it, trade shows can be pretty impersonal affairs. Speed dates and flying stand visits are all well and good in some situations, but the long march through endless exhibition halls with a tote bag full of USB sticks you’ll never use again doesn’t always make for the most engaging guest experience.

But HIX isn’t just a trade show. Rather, it’s a place to connect with the hospitality design community, and to discover the best hotel interior experiences in an immersive, welcoming environment. Many of our exhibitors have been with us since the beginning, and on top of being a great place to do business and discover the latest trends, HIX is a yearly catch up with friends old and new – a two-day town square where the hotel industry can meet, network, socialise and soak up the atmosphere.

HIX takes place at London’s Business Design Centre, right at the heart of the city’s design scene with over 100 studios and practices based in a two mile radius. And the best part is it’s free to join – register to attend today.

CONVENIENCE

HIX gives you access to the entire hotel supply chain under one roof. Whether you’re looking for brand new lights for your latest refurb or the perfect sustainable curtain fabric, the HIX show floor is a one-stop shop for the latest ranges across the board; think everything from soft furnishings, bathroom fixtures and dividing screens to technology systems, door handles and those crucial details that really tie a room together.

Looking to get the lowdown on the latest design concepts and network with hospitality industry leaders in the same day? HIX has you covered. And where the focus might be on design and experience, our guests include professionals involved at every level of bring a space to life, ranging from architects and project managers to investors, developers, procurement specialists, general managers and more.

More than a trade show, HIX is a platform for projects…

CURATION

…But not just any projects.

We’re dedicated to bringing guests only the latest and greatest in hospitality interior experiences, and both the show floor and our wider programme are edited and curated by people and partners with a deep knowledge of hotel design culture.

The Collection is a perfect representation of this – an expo space dedicated to hosting only the cutting edge of hand-picked European design brands and their latest ranges. Likewise, only the most important topics are tabled for discussion in the HIX Talks programme, with speakers representing the industry’s most innovative, relevant and passionate voices.

All killer, no filler; HIX is the ever-changing design experience, meaning no two years will be the same, let alone two days, and careful consideration goes into everything from the theme down to the drinks being served and the mixtape soundtracking it all.

CELEBRATION

Above all, HIX is a celebration – of great hotels, of the people that make them possible, and of the memorable experiences only hospitality spaces can produce.

Last year we toasted the great things that grew in the wake of the pandemic’s disruption, and this year we’re raising a glass to the truly unique perspectives working to make hotels more accessible, inclusive, adaptable and resonant for everybody.

That means a full schedule of social activities, from receptions to workshops to tastings and much more, all put on by the HIX community.

HIX is by the people, for the people. Whether that’s the Gessi soundsystem, back by popular demand for 2023, or the experimental and experiential hospitality installations by Blacksheep and MIXD set to be revealed at this year’s show, there really is something for everyone.

And just like the hotels we love, the guest always comes first at HIX, meaning your experience as an attendee is our number one priority. After all, hotels would be nothing without their guests, and neither would we.
